Swimming Pool
a. The Pool is primarily for the use of OTG and is open during the swimming season on Wednesday to Monday from 9am until 7pm except during typhoons or when lightning strikes are predicted within 10km of Butterfly Crest as notified by the Hong Kong Observatory’s Website and App (See Appendix A1). The swimming season is normally from 1st April to 30th November.
b. As part of the Annual Pool Licence Conditions, we are required by law to provide a qualified Lifeguard during pool operating times. Because the pool demand is lower outside holiday and weekend periods, the pool is closed one day per week to comply with local labour
Regulations. Currently the pool is closed on Tuesdays unless there is a public holiday. To facilitate cleaning, it will also be closed Mondays and Fridays for up to 2 hours.
c. Each house is allocated 8 Nos. Resident Cards. The Pool Attendant, who is a Registered Lifeguard, is authorised to deny the use of the pool facilities to people who do not produce a Resident’s Card.
d. There is only a single lifeguard on duty at any one time, and pool users are required to ensure that children are supervised. Two CCTV cameras in the pool area are used to confirm swimming pool rules are followed.
e. Pool users must observe the Pool Rules, which are displayed near the toilet area at the Pool. (See Appendix A2 for a copy of these rules.)
