Noise

a.       Noise from individual premises should not interfere with the rights and comforts of other owners or occupants. While the Fourth Schedule of the DMC is specific about the requirements regarding noise, the important point is that we should not disturb or annoy our neighbours.

 b.       It is accepted that there are occasions when individuals wish to celebrate, but they are advised to inform neighbours when this is likely to happen.

 c.       Excessive noise from individual houses on a regular basis is not conducive to harmonious co-existence in our society. Owners of holiday houses are asked to impress this aspect on their house users.

 d.       Noisy construction activities which could disturb neighbours should not be carried out before 9 a.m. or after 6 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays or at any time on weekends or public holidays. The only exception is when essential emergency repairs are required.
